Paul Denton, Senior Vice President - Marketing & Advanced Technologies

Paul Denton is Senior Vice President, Marketing & Advanced Technologies for Progress Rail, with responsibility for the Locomotive and Railcar Services (LRS) sales business unit outside of North America for both PRS and Electro-Motive Diesel.

Paul was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended the University of Georgia and graduated with a BBA degree in Operations Management in 1982. His first job after graduation was in the power generation industry working as project engineer for a mechanical and maintenance service provider, Williams Power Generation. During his 10- year service with Williams Power from 1983 to 1993, he held the positions of Project Manager, Operations Manager and Business Development Manager. In 1994, Paul joined BARCO Display systems as an Account Executive, an international company, which manufactures high-end rugged displays, graphic controllers and high resolution video products for military, air traffic control, commercial shipping, avionics, C4I and medical imaging. Paul joined GE Transportation (GETS) in 2000, and over his twelve years of service, he held sales and sales leadership positions of increasing responsibility in the Signaling and Locomotive Sales divisions. His last position with GETS was Director of Global Sales for the newly formed Software and Optimization Solutions business.

In 2013, Paul joined Progress Rail and Electro-Motive Diesel as Senior Vice President of international sales. Progress Rail is a global provider of rail and transit products and services, and Electro Motive Diesel is an industry leader in the design, manufacture and sales of diesel electric locomotives and diesel powered engines.

Paul is active in several community service organizations, participating in local events such as the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Festival of Trees and Habitat for Humanity. He is also a board member of Atlanta Young Audiences, a national organization, promoting arts for education.

Paul splits his time between the LaGrange, Ill., and Albertville, Ala., offices when he is not traveling internationally.
